The agricultural industry has one of the highest percentages of death by suicide and rural areas have a higher percentage of suicides compared to urban areas. To address this, the State Office of Rural Health (SORH) is partnering with AgriSafe to provide free professional development training for behavioral health professionals in Texas. This FarmResponses training (a 3.5-hour continuing ed module) will teach you to identify signs of stress and provide help to your clients and their families who are experiencing stress due to employment in the agricultural industry.

FarmResponse provide knowledge that is critical to effectively care for a farmer’s total health. You will learn about cultural competencies and improve your understanding of the stressors and the behavioral health landscape that affect agricultural producers, workers, and their families. FarmResponse is free, on-demand, and learners will receive a continuing education credit certificate and an electronic badge to add to their signature line/marketing materials.
