Job Description: Assessment Specialist in the San Antonio area
Summary
Developmental pediatric practice in San Antonio is seeking a part-time Assessment Specialist to assist with the administration and scoring of individually administered test batteries to children ages 1 – 17 years. The Assessment Specialist will review medical records and collaborate with clinical practitioners, families, and other assessment specialists to provide appropriate test selection to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning. Flexible hours are available, and bilingual applicants are preferred. 
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities 
- Individual administration of standardized test batteries (i.e. neurodevelopmental, intelligence, achievement, vocabulary, and other standardized measures) 
- Conducting play-based, standardized assessment of communication, social interactions, and play for individuals referred for evaluation of possible autism spectrum disorders 
- Maintain timely documentation of rendered services, comprehensive behavioral observations, and test scores for the electronic health record and to include in the written evaluation report 
- Maintain knowledge of current assessment measure revisions and making appropriate adjustments, as necessary 
- Continue education to remain current on best testing practices and assessment measures for the pediatric population 
Required Qualifications 
- Graduate level training and experience with administering, scoring, and interpreting individualized tests, especially in the area of development, intelligence, achievement, and communication 
- Graduate level training in psychometrics including courses in statistics and tests and measurements. Applicants should be experienced and competent with the concepts of reliability, validity, standard errors of measurement, confidence intervals, mean, standard deviation, correlation, standard scores, T-scores, and percentiles. 
- Background and experience in working with children 
- Background and experience providing professional services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders 
- Post graduate mental health or educational specialization involved in the treatment of autism
